Monday, October 31st

A Veggie Tuna Sub $4.29 and a Bragg's Cider Drink (another VaVa rec)$2.29 for lunch .
Boca Chikn Patties and the last of the Pea Shoots with Goddess Dressing for dinner. Things have been so stressful, a simple dinner was all I could handle.
Plum Pie for dessert.
Pics of the pups enjoying the snow on Saturday. I believe the pics look dark because I had to shield the camera from the snow.
This little guy was excited to find a banana peel from the compost pile.
This gal was thinking how just last week we had the air conditioning on.
I didn't get to the interesting extra stuff again. More importantly, will I ever catch up with everyone's blogs?

Saturday October 29 & Sunday October 30th

Due to heavy wet snow pulling down leaf-laden trees, the power went out Saturday morning. No electricity, no tv, no internet, no oven all weekend long. I'm just catching up the pics at work this morning, so it looks crapp(ier), but will return to our regularly scheduled programming tonight (with interesting extra stuff).

Saturdays cold lunch (thanks for the Stuffed Grape Leaves rec, VaVa, they're great!)...We were able to light the burners on the stove with a match, so I enjoyed a bowl of Mom's Lentil Soup for dinner...
Rice Dream Ice Cream & Uncle Eddie's Cookie for dessert...
Lunch at Mom's Place on Sunday. We made it out to civilization! The last of the homemade veggie soup for dinner Sunday night.Followed by some Hummus on Crackers for dessert. I didn't even bother photographing it. Finally, the power came back at 9:30pm, then a couple hours later we got an automated phone call from Rappahannock Power informing us the electricity was back on.

...and a side order of Spaghetti Marinara...and a lot of Bread with Olive Oil....
Dinner was the next to last bowl of homemade Veggie Soup.
A couple Sjaak's Peanut Butter Bites for dessert.
Is Vegan Mofo almost over? I, for one, am exhausted trying to keep up with everyone's posting.

Thursday, October 27th

Due to an 11:30am conference call, I had to hit WFs before the lunch entrees were available. Lucky for me, they had Tofu Scramble & Potatoes O'Brien on the Hot Bar. So it may not look too appetizing, but it was quite the delicious lunch.
Gardein Crispy Tenders w/Heinz-57 and Pea Shoots w/Goddess Dressing for dinner.
Plum Pie for dessert.
Don't forget: Beavis & Butthead return to MTV tonight! Set your DVRs! (Or stay up for it, if you're still spry. Me, I'm going to sleep now).

WTF Wednesday

Boring but good, homemade Veggie Soup for lunch.
FF recently turned me on to Sjaak's vegan chocolates, so tonights dessert was a Celebrate Bar. Incredible!
Coming up tomorrow: Scrounging for more vegan grub of interest.

Tuesday, October 25th

Lunch was from Lotus Vegetarian. 'Vege-Chicken with Cashews & Spring Roll' $8.50 - Diced Soy Protein sauteed with Sugar Peas, Zucchini, Organic Carrots, Jicama, White Mushrooms and Cashew Nuts in Brown Sauce. Alas, they left out the Soy Protein, but it was still pretty tasty.
Gardein Stuffed Turk'y and Roasted Brussel Sprouts for dinner.
Plum Pie for dessert.
Coming up tomorrow: WTFing usually means Hummus.

Monday, October 24th

A Salad from WF's with lots of Goddess Dressing for lunch. After this delicious and more than satisfying lunch, I started ruminating on VaVa being gluten free and how I should be gluten free. Got the munchies really bad so I bought a bag of Fritos out of the vending machine. One dollar. 320 calories. Gone in 5 minutes.More Vegetable Soup for dinner. The flavors have melded beautifully over the past week. Soup really does need to sit for a few days to enhance the flavor.Mexican Hot Chocolate Snickerdoodle with Peanut Butter for dessert.
Coming up tomorrow: I'm thinking Lotus Vegetarian Restaurant and Rising Moon Ravioli. Let's see if I'm right!

Sunday, October 23rd

It was a Bocalicious day: My Boca Burger $7.95 at Mom's Place for lunch.

My Boca Chick'n Patties for dinner. The 'Pea Shoots' were picked up at the farmers market yesterday $5.
I also picked up a Plum Pie from the folks at 1st Avenue Bakery. $15
According to the vendor and the ingredients, it's vegan. (Moments earlier, we were quite unnerved by The Boy Muffin Makers hawking 'gluten free/dairy free' muffins that upon further inspection turned out to be made with lard).
I sure hope this pie is actually vegan cuz I ate at big piece tonight. It was fantastic. Worthy of all the blue ribbons.
I really didn't mean for this to be a post predominately about Plum Pie, just want to show how pretty it was.

Saturday, October 22nd

Lunch was a last vestige of summer: Tomato Sandwich at Market Table Bistro.
Dinner was a first vestige of Thanksgiving: Gardein Stuffed Turk'y and a Baked Sweet Potato.
Dessert was the other half my slice of the White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake from Vegan Treats via Loving Hut. Before I could adequately photograph it, Mr. SV cheekily plucked off the puff of 'Whipped Topping' and popped it in his mouth. My battle with his passive aggression is never-ending. Nonetheless, my eating of this Cheesecake was extremely pleasurable.
Coming up tomorrow: the second rapture has passed and you're still alive. What to eat?

Friday, October 21st

Lunch was the 'Roasted Vegetable Salad' - Roasted Artichoke Hearts, Asparagus, Peppers, Corn and Sun-Dried Tomatoes on Romaine lettuce with Avocados. Fat-Free Balsamic Vinaigrette subbed for Dijon $13.25 from California Pizza Kitchen.
It's only a four hour drive away, but much as I've wanted to for years, I've never dined at Candle Cafe. Now I can have the Candle Cafe experience in my own home with my favorite dining companions:
No celebrity sightings or blogger meetups, but totally glamorous and gourmet. Portion size could have been several times bigger for my tastes, that's just my gluttony.
Pretty exceptional food day, if I must say so myself.

Thursday, October 20th

Red Robin got my order right again.
More Homemade Vegetable Soup. A lot of bloggers would just re-use last night's pic of the soup, but this is the actual bowl I enjoyed tonight.
Soyummi Dark Chocolate Pudding for dessert.
Neither Mr. SV nor I were overly impressed with this product. The texture was too similar to Jell-O.
I hope you're all here tomorrow, good grub will be the order of the day.

and Black Bean Adobo Chili for lunch.
Repeat for dinner: The last of the Five Star Foodies Harvest Roast and Mac & Cheese.
My last Magical Coconut Bar for dessert. Gonna have to make another batch of these to keep on hand.
Coming up tomorrow: Making a big pot of Vegetable Soup
